The Xerox DocuMate™ 262, the latest addition to the Xerox scanner range and the first to scan up to 33 pages per minute or 66 images per minute in duplex mode, is now available throughout Europe. The DocuMate 262 has already received the prestigious Editors Choice Award from PC Magazine in America, being given a rating of 4 out of 5 and rated top choice scanner for price/performance, ease-of-use and best document management software.
The DocuMate 262 was designed specifically for desktop use and incorporates One Touch technology for eliminating multiple steps in sending scanned documents to predetermined applications or devices. The scanner also includes Kofax VirtualReScan™ 3.5 software providing excellent image quality and superior optical character recognition accuracy
Its nine customisable One Touch destinations allow scanning directly to virtually any destination, including searchable PDF. Users can easily set the destination of their scanned document by pressing a button and selecting one of nine pre-programmed (and user-customisable) scan settings. Destinations include scan to searchable PDF, scan to print, scan to archive, scan to network and scan to email.

The Xerox DocuMate 262 scanner is developed, marketed and supported by Visioneer, Inc., based on the trademark licensing agreement between the two companies announced in 2003.
The Xerox DocuMate 262 offers an optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi, 48-bit internal color, a hi-speed USB 2.0 interface (USB 1.1 compatible), and includes TWAIN and ISIS® certified drivers, Kofax VRS 3.5 software, ScanSoft® PaperPort Pro 9 Office, ScanSoft OmniPage Pro 12, Pixel Translations QuickScan Version 3.5, and ArcSoft PhotoImpression 4.0. The scanner processes 33pm/66ipm at 200 dpi monochrome and greyscale. The user-friendly 50-page capacity automatic document feeder can handle paper and photos from business cards up to legal-size documents. The DocuMate 262 also has one of the smallest footprints of any automatic document feed (ADF) scanner on the market.
