VISIONEER LAUNCHES NEW RANGE OF XEROX-BRANDED SCANNERS

Announcing the New Xerox Range of High-end consumer scanners


Guildford, Surrey - September 18th 2003 - Visioneer announced today that it has entered into a trademark licensing agreement with Xerox Corporation for Visioneer to develop, market and support a new line of Xerox-branded scanners on an exclusive basis.

"By integrating the power of the Xerox brand with Visioneer's technology, we expect to further strengthen our position in the marketplace," said Peter Trapmore, Visioneer's European Managing Director. "Both companies' commitment to quality is recognised in the licensing agreement with provisions to maintain the highest standards throughout the product lifecycle," he added.

The licensing agreement between Visioneer and Xerox is for a term of 3.5 years with an option for an additional 3-year extension.

The Xerox scanner range has been designed to offer customers a new high-end range of consumer scanners, providing great quality and performance from a household brand name. Xerox scanners are designed for all users, from novices to the very experienced. All of the range come with five One Touch Buttons, four of which are pre-configured to scan at the optimal settings for the most common tasks (e-mail, copy, print and OCR); the fifth button can be customised and is completely programmable to allow users to set it up to do whatever they want it to do.

The range comprises as follows:

Xerox 2400:
The entry-level scanner has everything you would expect from a Xerox scanner, 1200 x 4800 dpi optical resolution, 48-bit colour and five One Touch buttons.

Xerox 4800:
The 4800 combines the speed of Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity and optical resolution of 1200 x 4800 dpi, true 48-bit colour and five One Touch buttons.

Xerox 4800 TA:
The 4800 TA comes with a transparency adaptor and is able to scan slides or negatives using Hi Speed USB 2.0, an optical resolution of 1200 x 4800 dpi and features 48-bit colour and five One Touch Buttons.

All Xerox scanners are provided complete with ScanSoft PaperPort 8 SE, Ulead Photo Express & ScanSoft Textbridge Pro 9 and work with Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition and Windows XP.

They will be available from 1st October 2003, from Visioneer and the 2400 model is exclusively available in retail at Dixon's Stores Group, at the following RRP's: Xerox 2400 £59.99, Xerox 4800 £69.99, Xerox 4800 TA £89.99
