The Xerox DocuMate 152, priced at $695, is a small, easy-to-use, color sheetfed scanner designed for desktop use and allows people to scan double-sided documents at speeds up to 30 images per minute. Over $400 in bundled software includes X1 Technologies Enterprise Desktop Search, ScanSoft PaperPort 10, OmniPage Pro OCR, NewSoft Presto! BizCard, Visioneer OneTouch™ and an advanced TWAIN driver.

The Xerox DocuMate 152 offers an optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi, 48-bit internal color, hi-speed USB 2.0 interface (USB 1.1 compatible) and a 50-page Automatic Document Feeder. It includes a powerful software bundle that allows consumers and business professionals to automatically scan paper documents to image-over-text searchable PDF. Searchable PDF maintains the visual integrity of the original document, with the text portions of the image converted via OCR for search purposes and stored in a separate layer. This allows for low-cost conversion from paper to PDF, while permitting easy distribution and ability to search, link, select/copy and index the text.
