ANNOUNCING KOFAX VRS 4.0 CERTIFICATION AND UPGRADE PROGRAM FOR XEROX DOCUMATE SCANNERS

Registered Users Eligible to Upgrade Kofax Standard VirtualReScan® 4.0 and Have Option of Purchasing VRS 4.0 Plus For Only $295

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- May 16, 2005 -- It was announced today that the Xerox DocuMate 250, DocuMate 252, DocuMate 262, DocuMate 272 and DocuMate 520 have been certified and will begin bundling Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) 4.0. VRS 4.0 makes scanning more efficient and enhances the quality of scanned images and offers the ability to add color processing and other features that further automate document preparation. Registered users will be able to order their free upgrade to VRS 4.0 through the DocuMate scanner website or they may purchase an upgrade to 4.0 Plus with added features for only $295, a discount of $300 off the standard price.

Already the de facto industry standard for image processing, Kofax VRS 4.0 raises the bar with automation of document prep and offers the ability to add color processing capabilities. VRS 4.0 significantly speeds document preparation, which otherwise could take twice as much time as the scanning process itself. Prior versions of VRS enabled users to avoid sorting documents by quality or size. Now, VRS 4.0 users can access features that eliminate additional time-consuming manual tasks, such as sorting documents to face in the same direction, or inserting separator sheets to differentiate black-and-white and color documents.

“The demand for capturing color is steadily growing, especially in industries such as insurance, finance, human resources and law enforcement, where records frequently include color forms, photos and drivers licenses,” said Doug Rudolph, vice president of business development at Kofax. “The Xerox DocuMate scanners are unique in enabling businesses to easily take advantage of VRS features through the scanners' One Touch scanning solution.”

Price and Availability of VRS Upgrade

Current registered users of eligible Xerox DocuMate scanners who wish to upgrade to version 4.0 may purchase the CD for a nominal shipping fee directly from www.xeroxscanners.com. Users who wish to upgrade to 4.0 Plus will be charged $295 for the CD.

The program optimizes VAR margins and sales opportunities through volume incentive rebates, sales support, marketing tools, access to the 20/20 Perfect Vision extranet and blog.
